I believe Blogging should be informative, then entertaining. To talk without real meaning does no one any good,"Give a man a fish and you fill his stomach for a day but teach a man to fish and HE can fill his stomach with food every day."
How can a simple, and apparently harmless, board game, create a demonic possession?
BREAKIING NEWS!!! TEXAS PEACE OFFICER writes intriguing book on occult issues. How can a simple, and apparently harmless, board game, create a demonic possession? The question remains unanswered, but lies at the crux of THE OCCULT: TRUTH OR TRAP?, a controversial and intriguing book by R. Joseph Lawrence.
The story is frightening in its scope, and is made even more worrisome by the fact that--according to the author--it is all true. In THE OCCULT: TRUTH OR TRAP? Lawrence describes his short-lived dating relationship , in the 1970's with a young Texas woman he calls Sue. She was apparently possessed by demons, but they were manifested by what-on the surface-seemed to be a typical multi-personality disorder. The various personalities coming out of Sue, were terrifying individuals describing themselves as people who were dead!
The author said it all began when he and Sue sat opposite an apparently harmless Ouija Board, a board game where two or more players use a plastic pointer to spell out words in answer to specific questions. "At times when we worked with the Ouija Board, she {Sue} would actually go into a trance and become unconscious," Lawrence writes.
The books bottom line is a warning about the possessory dangers of Ouija and other board games that cut deeply into an indivualls mind, as well as, fortune telling, and astrology, which may seem harmless on the surface, but according to Lawrence, can trap intelligent, but unwitting victims in webs of satanic darkness and intrigue.
Lawrence uses Bible verses to underscore his points. "I felt led by God to write this book, as a warning to others not to fall into the same trap that I fell into." Lawrence said in a recent interview. Quite disturbing, however, are the many aggravating and near tragic occurences in Lawrence's life after he began writing the manuscript for his book. He describes those incidents, in detail, which culminated in March 1985, with a head-on collision in which the author's present wife, Linda, was critically injured.
Lawrence also describes three events, while he was flying private aircraft, where his life was saved through "DIVINE" intervention.
The book does have a happy ending though, as Sue has become a Christian and is happily married and living in South Texas. Her demons are finally gone. And, the Lawrence's with their son Chris, who designed the book's covers, have a solid and happy family life.
Lawrence is a long-time correction Peace Officer, in maximum security confinement, and this is his first offering as an author. According to a news release about the book, controversy, surrounding the book, seems to center on two aspects: First of all, there is some initial resistance to the book from individuals who are terrified of the unknowns surrounding the occult. And secondly, some people refuse to believe that Lawrence's story is true, yet the account is so disturbingly bizarre it would be diffucult-if not impossible-to fictionalize.
Lawrence said at the height of Sue's possession, multi-personalities often took similarities of some jailed inmates-that Lawrence has had experience with-whose mental incapacitation's have sometimes taken on volatile subhuman animalistic traits.
