I believe Blogging should be informative, then entertaining. To talk without real meaning does no one any good,"Give a man a fish and you fill his stomach for a day but teach a man to fish and HE can fill his stomach with food every day."
How we think of Bears.......
How BEARS think of them selves!
Let's tell a story for a moment shall we?
Let's imagine for a moment that a young boy who lives in the Wilderness with his family in the early 1800's, one day ventures out into the woods to explore and comes across a lonely Grisly bear cub along side his dead parents. Feeling empathy for the very young cub he takes the cub to care for him never letting his parents know he has the cub.
Let's say he keeps the cub in a little storage shed about a mile or so from his families home in the woods, feeding him table scraps and giving him left over milk from his breakfast. The two grow up together becoming friends, the bear thinking that the boy is one of his parents {Food Sources}. As the cub grows up its internal instincts begin to take over and he becomes harder and harder to control and the young boy doesn't know how to control him so he puts him in a cage he builds from scrap wood around the shed. This however doesn't sit well with the now older bear and he breaks out to find food, since he was feed human food and never taught to hunt on his own, he seeks out humans to feed him.
In his search he comes upon the boy's house a mile or so uphill, the parents unaware of their son's misdeed done in empathy for a lonely cub months ago are unprepared to defend themselves from the fury of the young Bears appetite. They do not know he only wants scraps, and begin to scare him away like they would any wild animal. The Bear is so confused by these mixed signals from what he has grown to love as FOOD SOURCES in his life THAT HE DOES WHAT ANY BEAR WOULD DO, HE ATTACKS THEM AND KILLS THEM. They become his food source literally and the Bear becomes a man killer ALL BECAUSE OF A LITTLE BOY WANTS A TO CARE FOR ONE OF NATURES CREATURES WITHOUT FULL KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO DO IT.
WHAT DID THE BOY IN THIS STORY LACK THAT WOULD HAVE HELPED HIM MAKE A BETTER CHOICE?
Its simple, "Fear of the bear" he thought that because he cared for the bear and provided love from his heart that the Bear would always be tame. That was his mistake, BEARS are wild BY NATURE within and cannot be tamed permanently. No matter what WE THINK about the Bear's nature, its nature will take care of itself.
In a SIMILAR way our THOUGHTS ABOUT GOD can equally be wrong and misdirect our perceptions concerning Who he is, How he operates in the world and Why he does what he does. If our perceptions are deceived concerning God we LACK THAT SAME FEAR that the boy lacked concerning the Bear.
Religion gives a false view of God!
How do we KNOW about God?
Where do you gain knowledge that could even come close to describing a God that is BOTH the greatest love and the most pure and equal Judgment rolled into one?
Can any mortal finite mind ever think of God rightly without failing to embrace both sides of his nature? Its not within our abilities as mortal's to think of something beyond ourselves that has NONE of the weaknesses and perfection no human being has. In all the history of the "gods" of men, their imaginations about a higher power could not move beyond their own limited perceptions of power, greed, lust, and money.
The answer is BOTH simple and hard to understand at the same time, hard because we do not have the proper understanding through man made Religion. Easy because God made us in his Image to begin with. With HIS POWER he can rewire us to understand his love and his judgment.
To Fear God is not to "BE AFRAID" of God's Love but to have a balanced Reverence, awe and understanding that God can take this world out as fast as he put it here, of what would happen if we disobey that love. God has CLEARLY revealed the rules to obtain life, clearly shown the way, the truth, and the life in his word. God CANNOT be understood aside from his word and not properly understood without spiritual life within us.
